I am so saddened to learn of Andy's passing. We never met, but I had occasion to speak with him several times on the phone about returning to my husband's ancestral land in New kent County and joining the community of small specialty crop farmers. Andy's voice fairly GLOWED over the telephone wires when he spoke about shitakes, blueberries and saffron. I'm honored to have been able to speak with him...however briefly. I know that Andy was a helper and a supporter to thousands, and that his legacy of enthusiasm and good works will continue to bear fruit for generations to come.
