I came to VSU in 1990 as an Extension Specialist and had the good fortune to share office space with Andy. He was a wonderful colleague and he generously shared his knowledge and experience that would have a bearing on the broader rural development issues which were my area of work. Andy's gifts went well beyond his extensive knowledge base. It was his positive nature and passion for the economic well-being of the small and limited resource farmer and the potential for alternative enterprises that earned him such a great following.
